Translation guide
The positive electrode in an electrical device or system. In Japanese, the term depends on the context: general electronics, electrochemistry, or vacuum tubes.
The electrode through which conventional current flows into a polarized electrical device.
The most common and direct translation, used in general electronics and physics.
In this circuit, the anode is connected to the positive side.
Literally 'positive pole', used in technical contexts. Often paired with 陰極 (cathode).
Please connect the anode and cathode correctly.
The electrode where oxidation occurs (negative in a discharging battery, positive in an electrolytic cell).
Used in electrochemistry as well, but note that the polarity depends on the cell type.
Oxidation occurs at the anode of the battery.
Also used in electrochemistry, but can be ambiguous because in a discharging battery the anode is negative.
In a discharging battery, the anode is the negative electrode, so 陽極 (positive pole) may cause confusion. Use アノード for clarity.
The electrode that attracts electrons, typically the plate.
In vacuum tube terminology, the anode is commonly called the plate.
Measure the plate voltage of the vacuum tube.
Also used, but less common than プレート in practical tube circuits.
In electrochemistry, the anode is where oxidation occurs. In a discharging battery, the anode is negative; in an electrolytic cell, it is positive. The Japanese term 陽極 (positive pole) may not always match the anode's polarity, so アノード is safer for clarity.
In this battery, lithium is used for the anode.
When the anode current increases, the sound distorts.
