For rain, 雨に降られる is more natural than 雨に遭う in most cases.
The English phrase 'be caught in' does not have a single direct Japanese equivalent. Avoid literal translations like 捕まえられる (be captured) for situations like rain or traffic. Use the appropriate phrase for the context.
