The most straightforward way to say 'put something in the center'. 中心 (center) + に (in) + 置く (put).

More formal, often used in design or layout contexts. 配置する means 'to arrange/position'.

Please position the logo in the center of the page.
Casual, conversational. 真ん中 is a more colloquial word for 'middle'.

Bring that chair more to the middle.
To direct focus or discussion toward a particular topic or person.
A very common pattern meaning 'centering on ~' or 'with ~ as the center'. Used for discussions, activities, events.
会議は環境問題を中心に進められた。
The meeting proceeded centering on environmental issues.
彼女を中心にチームが作られた。
A team was formed centering around her.
Literally 'to focus on', used when you want to emphasize directing attention or analysis.
この研究は若者の消費行動に焦点を当てている。

To become centered, grounded, or balanced emotionally or spiritually.
Means 'to calm one's mind/heart'. The most natural way to express centering oneself emotionally.
深呼吸して心を落ち着けよう。
Let's take a deep breath and center ourselves.
Literally 'to put oneself in order'. Used for regaining mental or physical balance, similar to 'centering'.
朝のヨガで自分を整えている。
I center myself with morning yoga.
Loanword from English 'grounding', used in mindfulness or therapy contexts. Not as common as the above phrases.

In sports like soccer, to pass the ball toward the center of the field.
The standard Japanese term for a cross or centering pass in soccer. Directly borrowed from English.
彼は右サイドから正確なセンタリングを上げた。

A more descriptive phrase: 'to send a pass to the center'. Used when explaining the action rather than using the technical term.
