遵守 (じゅんしゅ) is about obeying rules or laws, while 適合 (てきごう) is about conforming to standards or specifications. Use 遵守 for legal/ethical compliance and 適合 for technical/quality compliance.
Directly translating 'compliance' as 承諾 (しょうだく, consent) or 同意 (どうい, agreement) can be misleading. These imply active agreement rather than following rules or standards. Use context-appropriate terms like 遵守 or 適合.
