The English word 'eve' does not have a single direct equivalent in Japanese. Using イブ outside of Christmas Eve will confuse listeners. Instead, use 前日 for 'the day before' and 前夜 for 'the night before' depending on the context.
前日 (ぜんじつ) refers to the entire day before an event, while 前夜 (ぜんや) specifically refers to the evening or night before. For example, クリスマスの前日 is the whole day of December 24th, but クリスマスの前夜 emphasizes the night of December 24th.
