The English phrase 'get hurt' is often translated as 傷つく or 怪我をする, but a direct translation like '傷を得る' is unnatural. Use the appropriate verb for the context.
怪我をする is primarily for physical injuries, while 傷つく is used for both physical wounds and emotional hurt. For emotional hurt, 傷つく is the standard choice.
