While 知識 is the most direct translation, it often sounds too formal or academic for everyday "knowing." Use 知っている for knowing facts, and 理解 for deep understanding.
知識 (chishiki) is factual knowledge; 知恵 (chie) is wisdom or practical know-how. You can have 知識 without 知恵.
