To skip or omit, often used when going through a sequence (e.g., skipping a step, a page, or a name on a list).
彼は私の名前を抜かした。
He left out my name.
To exclude or leave out, often in formal or systematic contexts.
その項目はリストから除外された。
That item was left out of the list.
To remove or exclude; often used in the phrase ～を除いて (except for).
彼を除いて全員参加した。
Everyone participated, leaving him out.
To say that you are not telling or writing something, or that something is missing from a statement.
Same as above, but specifically for information.
その部分は省いて話した。
I left out that part when I spoke.
To intentionally not say something; to leave unsaid.
それは言わないでおいたほうがいい。
You'd better leave that out (not say it).
To not touch upon a topic; to leave it out of discussion.

To ostracize or leave someone out of a group; common in social contexts.
彼女は友達に仲間外れにされた。
She was left out by her friends.

To say that you are not doing a step, or that something is being skipped.
To skip over something, like a page, a step, or a turn.
その章を飛ばして読んだ。
I read it, leaving out that chapter.
手順を一つ飛ばしてしまった。
I accidentally left out one step.
Also used for skipping steps or items in a sequence.
朝ごはんを抜かした。
I skipped (left out) breakfast.
省く (habuku) is the most general for omitting or leaving out. 抜かす (nukasu) implies skipping something in a sequence, often accidentally or casually. 飛ばす (tobasu) is similar but more about jumping over something intentionally or quickly. For social exclusion, use 仲間外れにする (nakamahazure ni suru).
Do not translate 'leaving out' literally as 出ていく (dete iku) or 残す (nokosu). These have different meanings (leaving a place, leaving behind). Use the verbs above depending on context.
彼は一番大事な点を省いた。
He left out the most important detail.
私を会話から仲間外れにしないで。
Don't leave me out of the conversation.
