The concept of objectivity in Japanese is often expressed through words that emphasize fairness, impartiality, or a third-person perspective. Direct translations exist but are more common in formal or academic contexts. In everyday speech, describing a situation or judgment as fair or neutral is more natural.

公平 (fairness) is about equal treatment without favoritism. 公正 (justice/fairness) is about moral rightness and often used in legal contexts. 客観的 (objective) is about being based on facts rather than personal feelings, and is the direct antonym of 主観的 (subjective). In daily conversation, 公平 is the most common way to express the idea of objectivity in judgments.
Directly translating 'objectivity' as 客観性 in casual conversation can sound overly academic. Instead, describe the situation using 公平 or 中立, or rephrase to focus on facts or a third-person view.
彼は客観主義の立場をとっている。
He takes an objectivist stance.
