Translation guide
A relay station is a place where signals, messages, or broadcasts are received and retransmitted. In Japanese, the most common term is 中継局 (ちゅうけいきょく) for telecommunications and broadcasting. For physical relay points like post stations in history, 中継所 (ちゅうけいじょ) or 宿場 (しゅくば) are used. The choice depends on context: technical vs. historical, and whether it's a facility or a point in a network.
