To confirm something in a casual conversation with friends or family.
Casual and friendly way to say 'that's right' or 'yeah, that's so'. The よ adds emphasis.
A: これ、おいしいね。B: そうだよ。

Very casual, often used when you suddenly remember or strongly agree. Like 'oh yeah, that's right!'.
A: 明日、テストだっけ?B: そうそう、忘れてた。

Expresses realization or understanding, like 'oh, is that so?' or 'I see'. Can be used to agree after learning something new.

To confirm a statement in a highly formal context, such as a business meeting or with a superior.
Extremely polite and formal. Used in business or when speaking to customers. Equivalent to 'that is correct'.
A: こちらの書類で間違いないでしょうか。B: はい、さようでございます。
A: Is this document correct? B: Yes, that is correct.
Literally 'as you say'. Very respectful, used to agree with a superior's statement.
部長: このプロジェクトは延期すべきだ。部下: おっしゃる通りです。
