満 centers on reaching a limit where nothing more is needed: being full, having enough, or feeling satisfied. The idea applies to physical fullness, emotional satisfaction, and meeting requirements.
満 is the modern simplified form of 滿. The older form combines 氵 (water) with 㒼, which likely contributed the sound and the idea of filling evenly. The modern right side 曼 is a simplification.
Water 氵 on the left and the right side 曼 suggest a container being filled to the brim. Picture water rising until it is completely full and satisfying.
For マン, imagine a man filling a huge water tank until it is completely full: man -> マン, and the water satisfies the need.
