A demonstrative pronoun referring to a person near the speaker or previously mentioned. Can be used for 'he' or 'she' when the person is known from context, but この人 is less common than 彼/彼女 in modern Japanese for third-person pronouns.
この人は私の父です。

Is this the person you talked about yesterday?
