Attaches to a noun to mean 'leaving X aside' or 'ignoring X'. Similar to そっちのけ, but less common. Often used in phrases like 仕事そこのけ (neglecting work).

そっちのけ is more common and has a similar meaning of 'neglecting' or 'setting aside'. そこのけ can also mean 'superior to', which そっちのけ does not.
Derived from そこ (there) + 退け (imperative form of 退ける, 'to move aside'). Literally 'move aside from there', it developed into a suffix meaning 'putting aside' or 'surpassing'.
