Attaches to a clause to express a hypothetical condition, often used when considering possibilities or asking 'what if'. Similar to なら or ば, but with a nuance of 'assuming that situation'.

  If it rains tomorrow, the game will be canceled.

• 彼かれが来こなかったとしたら、どうしよう。

  What if he doesn't come?
