Gaming term for a temporary negative effect applied to a character, such as reduced stats or damage over time. Opposite of バフ (buff).

• このボスは定てい期き的てきにデバフをかけてくる。

  This boss periodically applies debuffs.

• 防ぼう御ぎょ力りょくダウンのデバフを受うけると、被ひダメージが増ふえる。

  When you get a defense-down debuff, the damage you take increases.
