Used specifically for losing a close person such as a family member or friend through death. Not used for losing objects or abstract things; for those, use 無くす.

• 彼かれは若わかくして妻つまを亡なくした。

  He lost his wife at a young age.

• 戦せん争そうで多おおくの人ひとが家か族ぞくを亡なくした。
