Primarily used for entrance examinations to schools or universities, but can apply to other qualifying exams. Often used with する to mean 'to take an exam'.

  I plan to take the university entrance exam next year.

• 受じゅ験けん勉べん強きょうで毎まい日にち忙いそがしい。

  I'm busy every day studying for the entrance exams.
