Traditional intransitive verb used when a woman marries and enters the husband's household. In modern Japanese, 結婚する is more common, but 嫁ぐ is still used in formal, literary, or traditional contexts.
彼女は名家に嫁いだ。
She married into a distinguished family.
長女は遠くへ嫁いでいっ
The eldest daughter married and moved far away.
