noun, na-adjective
slowpoke; dawdler; indecisive person
Colloquial term for someone who is slow to act, indecisive, or dawdling. Often used in a mildly critical or teasing way.
彼はぐずで、いつも決断に時間がかかる。
He's a slowpoke and always takes time to make decisions.
ぐずぐずしてないで、早く準備しなさい。
Stop dawdling and get ready quickly.
The origin is uncertain; it may be related to the mimetic adverb ぐずぐず (dawdling). The kanji 愚図 is ateji.
