Attached to the hour number (e.g., 六時半 = 6:30). Used in both spoken and written Japanese.

• 会かい議ぎは三さん時じ半はんに始はじまります。

  The meeting starts at half past three.

• 今いま、何なん時じですか？ — 十じゅう時じ半はんです。

  What time is it now? — It's half past ten.
