Expresses a feeling of wishing you had what someone else has, or that you could be in their situation. Often used in a light, admiring way rather than deep resentment.

• 彼かれの新あたらしい車くるまが羨うらやましい。

  I'm envious of his new car.

• あの人ひとはいつも楽たのしそうで羨うらやましい。

  That person always seems to be having fun; I'm envious.
