A phrase used to say that something is true or will happen regardless of which of two situations or options is considered. It often connects two possibilities and states a common outcome.
The speaker wants to express that the same result or statement applies to both of two previously mentioned possibilities.

Do not translate 'in either case' word-for-word as どちらの場合でも or いずれの場合でも. While grammatically possible, these sound stiff and unnatural in most contexts. Use the set phrases above instead.

In either case, we need to act quickly.
バスでも電車でも、どちらにしても約1時間です。
You can take the bus or the train; in either case, it's about an hour.
