続ける (tsuzukeru) means to continue without stopping, while 進める (susumeru) means to advance or move forward. Use 続ける for ongoing actions and 進める for progressing to the next stage.
The English phrase 'proceed with' does not have a single direct equivalent. Avoid translating word-for-word; instead choose the verb that matches the context.
