その辺の事情は私には分かりません。
I don’t know the circumstances around that.
Means “around here,” referring to the speaker’s side or current location, while その辺 points to the listener’s side or something already mentioned.
Means “around over there,” usually farther from both speaker and listener than その辺.
A more colloquial and often vaguer alternative for “around there” or “about that much.”
Transparent combination of その, “that,” and 辺, “area; vicinity; neighborhood.” The spelling 其の辺 writes その with kanji but is uncommon in ordinary modern writing.
